Step by step guide on how to format a tp-link outdoor CPE 220

To format or reset your TP-Link CPE220 outdoor device, you’ll need to perform a factory reset. This process will erase all your current settings and return the device to its default configuration. Here’s a step-by-step guide to help you with that:

Option 1: Resetting via the Reset Button

This is the most straightforward method to reset the CPE220 to its factory settings.

  1. Power On the Device:
Make sure your CPE220 is powered on and fully operational. The device should be connected to your network and the LED lights should be on.

  2. Locate the Reset Button:
The reset button is a small pinhole located on the device. Typically, it is found on the back or side of the unit. You may need a paperclip, pin, or something small and pointed to press it.

  3. Press the Reset Button:
Using a pin or paperclip, press and hold the reset button for about 10-15 seconds. You’ll see the LED lights start to flash, and the device will go through a reboot process.

  4. Wait for the Reset to Complete:
After a few minutes, the device will reset to factory settings. The LED lights should stabilize, and the device will be ready to be reconfigured.
